1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using PDFEngine ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

PDFEngine provides free online PDF processing tools including but not limited to merge, split, compress, convert, rotate, watermark, page numbering, and password protection/unlock. All tools are provided free of charge with no account required.

3. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Ensuring you have the legal right to modify or process any files you upload
  • Not uploading malicious files, malware, or files intended to exploit system vulnerabilities
  • Not attempting to circumvent rate limits or abuse the Service
  • Not using automated scripts or bots to access the Service without permission

4. Intellectual Property

You retain full ownership of all files you upload. We claim no rights over your content. The Service and its underlying technology are owned by PDFEngine.

5. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may temporarily suspend or modify the Service for maintenance, updates, or beyond our reasonable control.

6. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. PDFEngine shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service.

We strongly recommend maintaining backup copies of your original files before processing.

7. Rate Limits

To prevent abuse, we apply rate limiting (approximately 20 uploads per IP per hour). Excessive automated usage may result in temporary access restrictions.

8. Prohibited Uses

You may not use the Service to:

  • Process files containing illegal content
  • Circumvent security measures on PDFs you do not have rights to modify
  • Distribute malware through file uploads
  • Perform denial-of-service attacks or resource exhaustion

9. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your data.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective upon posting. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
